Our take
Fire TV Stick 4K is the accessory we buy for relatives whose “smart” TV takes 20 seconds to open an app. External streamers age better than TV firmware. That is the whole review, honestly, and it is still true.
4K is worth it if your TV can show it and your internet can feed it. If you are on shaky Wi-Fi, fix the network first or the stick will take the blame.
The home row ads are the tax. If that bothers you more than saving money, look at other streamers. For most living rooms, the Stick is the path of least resistance.
