Our take
iPhone 16 is not an interesting recommendation because it is new. It is interesting because it is the least stressful phone for people already in Apple’s world. AirDrop, Watch, Mac, and iCloud backups are boring until you leave them.
The camera is the feature most buyers will feel. Daylight shots are consistently usable without editing. Low light is better than midrange Androids in this price band, especially if you share photos immediately in group chats.
We would only talk you out of it if you hate Apple’s prices, want a true headphone jack era of customization, or prefer a 7-year Android bet from Google or Samsung. For everyone already carrying an older iPhone, this is the clean upgrade path.
