Bose still understands padding. If Sony’s XM5 is the all-rounder, QuietComfort Ultra is the pair we suggest when someone says their current headset hurts after 90 minutes. The cups and clamp are tuned for long sessions.
ANC is close enough to Sony that most people will not pick a winner in a blind cafe test. Bose’s presentation is a little warmer. That is preference, not a spec victory.
Skip the spatial modes if they make you dizzy or if you only listen to speech. The product is still excellent as a straightforward quiet headset. That is the honest sell.
